RULE # 1 - The key to a great Açai bowl is to have frozen fruit on hand. This gives the base its signature smoothness.

With the recipes below, you’ll be able to whip up a bowl that’s almost too pretty to eat!

BANANA CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER BOWL

INGREDIENTS:

2 large frozen bananas

2-3 tablespoons peanut or almond butter

2 tablespoons cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, optional

1 cup unsweetened almond milk

3 – 4 ice cubes

DIRECTIONS:

Blend all ingredients until smooth, then pour into a bowl.

Garnish with a variety of toppings such as granola, cereal, sliced fruit, toasted coconut, seeds (chia, flax, hemp), chocolate chips, honey and Nutella!

*For extra creaminess, use 1/2 cup plain yogurt and only 1/2 cup almond milk.

*For extra sweetness add a pitted Medjool date or agave syrup.

CHIA AÇAI BOWL

INGREDIENTS:

½ cup + 1/3 cup unsweetened (vanilla) almond milk

2 tablespoons chia seeds

1 frozen banana

1 tablespoon almond or peanut butter

1 pitted Medjool date

1 frozen açai pack

DIRECTIONS:

The night before - combine chia seeds and ½ cup almond milk in a container. Stir, then set in the fridge overnight to soak.

In the morning - combine chia pudding, remaining 1/3 cup almond milk, banana, nut butter, date and frozen açai pack in a powerful blender.

Blend until smooth, then pour into a bowl. Garnish with assorted toppings mentioned above.
