‘STUDY ABROAD’
(VIRTUALLY, FOR NOW)
Scouted’s ‘Study Abroad’ travel experiences are truly bespoke and give high school students — and younger siblings — the opportunity to take a deep dive into a subject by engaging with experts from around the world.
All classes are live and virtual. They are generally structured as “semester long” experiences, ranging from 8-12 weekly sessions. These experiences can be done privately or with up to four other students (recruit some friends to do this with you!).
Each experience is sponsored by a luxury hotel property so once it becomes safe to travel again, the entire family can travel to the affiliated hotel to visit the “homebase” and meet their teacher(s) in person. In most cases, a two or more nights hotel stay is included in the price of the course. Prices range depending on whether it’s a small group or private.

To Africa And Back
‘Zoom’ to Africa to learn about biodiversity, sustainability and conservation from the experts at Singita, the pioneers in ecotourism. They’ve spent the past 25 years working to preserve the African wilderness. Learn from them how to restore and protect our environment. Be forewarned: you will be tempted to plan a Safari by the end of this experience.
Five-Star Hospitality
How do top hotels make the magic happen for their guests? Get an inside look at the “business of hospitality”, including access to the budgeting, marketing, sales and service strategies that make top hotels stand out. Who knows? You may even get the chance to intern (did someone say Four Seasons?) at the end of this experience!
Jewelry Designing
Work with a top Colombian jewelry designer where you’ll not only experience another culture, but you’ll gain great skills and create your own jewelry portfolio. And, cute as they may be, we’re not talking about friendship bracelets or arts and crafts 101 here! This program is offered in partnership with our friends at Sofitel Santa Clara.
Italian Fashionista
Meet with a top Italian stylist and learn all about the trailblazing Italian fashion houses, different types of textiles, and even take the opportunity to create or perfect your portfolio with expert input. Then figure out when you can book a trip to Borgo Egnazia in Puglia and see for yourself why so many fashionistas vacation in this idyllic spot in the boot of Italy.
Stock Market 101
What the *%! happens behind the scenes in the stock market? Get with a finance expert and learn investment strategies with a real-time simulation. This is NOT a boring lecture; hands-on experience guaranteed. Don’t gamble away your virtual do re mi! Follow up this course with a stay at the Four Seasons New York, and a visit to the Stock Exchange.
Luxury Brand Marketing
Think about it - we’re all our own “brand” in a way - whether you’re on social media or a budding entrepreneur, how you present or market yourself or your biz is so important. Learn from the best how they communicate their brand. You’ll emerge from this experience a marketing wiz.
